I’m gonna say some things in love to my fellow Christians who choose to participate in the annual rituals of Halloween. I’ve been there. I’ve made the same excuses for it. But we have to educate ourselves on the reality of the season we’re in right now. And I don’t just mean October.
Oh relax. It’s just something fun for the kids.
Do you realize how much young children are targeted by evil forces? The enemy uses innocuous sounding terms like healthcare to justify murdering innocent babies in the womb. They use words like tolerance to justify subjecting children to pornography, drag queens, and other sexually explicit and perverted behavior – at a time when the young brain is still developing and vulnerable to influence. The number of children who go missing each year is frightening. These kids often end up being sold into slavery, and most usually sex-slavery. So many diabolical schemes all designed to attack and exploit our young, and Halloween is another in that long list.
The “harmless fun” of dressing up like evil creatures and “pretending,” or engaging in “make believe,” is done in a ritualistic way every year. Even the phrase, “Trick or treat,” could be considered a mantra – recited over and over as you go from house to house – in order to get what you want. That’s called manipulation, and the Bible equates it with witchcraft.
And for you professing Christians who might say, “Well we only let our kids dress up as ‘good guys’ like superheroes and such,” listen closely. I love you, and I understand you mean well. But you’re permitting your children to pretend to be something they’re not, and they’re still engaging in the ritualistic behaviors – the same chant, the same manipulative actions in order to receive something they want. So what are you teaching them in the process?
There are plenty of wholesome activities you can engage in with your children that are fun and rewarding. Do you really want to subject them – and your household – to the wicked spiritual forces that seek to torment and destroy mankind? Why risk the family you love in such a way?
You’re just being preachy.
I’m talking to people who already claim to be Christians. If you are uncomfortable with the preachiness, you would have never followed the Jesus Christ who walked this earth. God’s Word actually tells us to have nothing to do with evil spirits, and even to refrain from giving the appearance of evil.
I’m pretty sure dressing up like a demon is quite literally putting on an appearance of evil. And even if the kid is dressed like Superman, he’s chanting that same mantra at every house to get stuff he wants. We’ve already covered this as being rooted in witchcraft. Why as a Christian parent would you allow your child to participate in that?
Too many parents are trying too hard to be the cool parents that let the kids do what all the other kids are doing. Ask yourself why you keep trying to downplay the seriousness of this. Is it because you don’t want to be the strong disciplinarian, instructor, and leader you’re supposed to be? Are you afraid of failing as a parent? Or are you still not convinced that one night of pretending to be Freddy Krueger is really that big of a deal?
The real war we’re waging is spiritual. Never forget that.
I’ve seen and heard several former witches and practicers of the occult who have come to Jesus, and they’ve all confirmed that Halloween is the satanic high holy day. The activities are all rooted in the occult, and children are the best targets because of the receptiveness of their underdeveloped brains. Kids are like a sponge, designed to absorb knowledge and integrate it into their lives. They are low hanging fruit to be plucked and perverted.
Satan’s minions love to pervert God’s creation. Remolding mankind into something it was never meant to be is what they’ve been trying to do for millenia. We are made in God’s likeness. That makes us unique and special to God, and every wicked spirit hates that. So they attempt to remake us in their image. Please tell me you’re starting to get the picture.
This is SO MUCH BIGGER than Halloween.
While October 31st can act as a doorway to spiritual wickedness, it is but one cog in a very large mechanism of evil influences. Modern day worship of false gods like Ba’al and Molech still take place under the guise of socially acceptable practices. The obvious example is the sacrifice of babies on the altar of Molech. The barbarism of abortion is overtly evil, yet it’s disguised as a health care procedure.
Evil is real. We are called to lift up a standard against the powers of wickedness that are presently operating in this world. And, make no mistake, you better truly know Jesus if you go up against the forces of evil. But it really is a war. The good thing is that we KNOW who wins in the end. Jesus and His army will defeat satan’s rebellious horde.
Are you called to be a part of God’s Army? Do you hear the Master’s call? Brothers and sisters in Christ, if you’re on Team Jesus, why are you wearing the other side’s uniform? Why let your kids clothe themselves in the garments of the occult?
Dare to be different, set apart, sanctified by God.
Rather than letting yourself be used by wickedness, choose to be a righteous example to your children, family, and your neighbors. Instead of following the way of the rest of the world, purpose yourself to follow in the ways of Jesus Christ.
Christians, we are supposed to be the shining light on a hill that illuminates the way for others. How can we do that if we’re associating at all with darkness? The blind leads the blind, and they both end up in the ditch. When scripture tells us to not be like the world, stop being like the world!
With all respect, and with all love, my dear fellow believers… Realize this is not a game. Evil is ramping up efforts right now because its time is growing short. More than ever, we must be vigilant in our sense of protecting our own households from the spiritual forces of wickedness.
How do we protect our households?
Step 1, don’t invite the enemy in. Evil spirits don’t gain access to our homes unless we let them in. Open a door to witchcraft or other occult practices – like playing with ouija boards or tarot cards – that’s an invitation. When you participate in such things, you are saying ‘yes‘ to demonic entities that want access to you.
Step 2, ground yourself in scripture. You need to KNOW Jesus in a personal way, UNDERSTAND that His authority is above all others, and SEEK OUT the wisdom of God’s Word and how to apply it to your everyday life.
Step 3, pray contually. This doesn’t mean spending the whole day with your head bowed. Be in an attitude of prayer at all times. Simply put, never hang up the phone. Keep an open line with Jesus, yes, always.
Victory in Christ Alone
Remember that Jesus is more than our Savior, Redeemer, and King. He’s also our best friend and greatest counselor. Seek His advice. Ask for help. Talk to Him. He loves you more than you can ever imagine. And He’s the absolute best ally in the fight against evil.
Jesus is the ultimate authority over ALL powers and principalities. Don’t go up against demonic spirits without Him. He has the authority. When He’s with us, nothing can stand against us because His authority supersedes that of the enemy.
Don’t WE have authority? Absolutely, we do…through Jesus Christ. We have authority, but that authority did not originate with us. Therefore, we cannot – nor should we ever attempt to – wield such authority apart from Jesus. It is IN HIM that we are made more than conquerors.
WE ARE INVOLVED IN A SPIRITUAL WAR. Therefore, give no quarter to the enemy. Do not let evil gain a foothold within your gates. What you choose to do with this warning is of utmost importance. Don’t just disregard it. Seek God’s wisdom. And obey His wise counsel.
