This weekend, I had a revelation. Most of us go through our everyday lives asleep. Not physically asleep, but spiritually unaware of all that’s truly happening around us and to us. We willingly give up control of so much. And if we don’t use the God-given authority we have to control what things are allowed to influence us, an enemy stands ready to control those things for us.

We normally walk around oblivious to our surroundings, by choice, because we don’t want to see. What we don’t see, we don’t feel obligated to take action in. We know ignorance is bliss, so we choose to not look, not notice, or simply ignore.

If we haven’t implemented a healthy structure to our lives, a predetermined structure will be forced upon us. Each decision we make will be skewed by a worldly system of belief rather than a Godly one.

When we begin to wake up to the myriad of things influencing us, facades start to fall away and we see things as they truly are. As our spiritual eyes are opened, we begin to realize the fakery being perpetrated – the proverbial wool they have been pulling over our eyes all our lives.

A false perception of what happiness is, what a perfect life is, has caused us to be misguided. We’ve selected the carnal, the material, rather than the truly beneficial. We hide emotional strains, anxiety and stress, beneath a facade of manufactured contentment.

Worse still, we cut ourselves off from the nature God created for us. Things He designed to sustain us and help us heal, we have lost our connection to. All the bioelectrical energy flowing from the ground, trees, and other living things – we seldom if ever make contact with these life enhancing gifts.

Failure to connect with our Creator leaves us susceptible to the influences of the enemy. We become too easily manipulated by the programming of this world. We fall prey to false beliefs, and we accept lies as truth.

If we only had some kind of spiritual goggles, some way to see things as they really are, the active spirit realm surrounding us – if we could just see all that. Oh, but we can. It takes a bit of effort and a lot of discipline and desire. We have to WANT to wake up. We must pray for the discernment, work to strengthen our connection to our Creator and His creation, and trust God enough to completely let go of the reins and leave Him in control.

Awaken, O Sleeper, and witness the wonder of what God has designed for your protection and your promotion to abundant life!
