Making the Podcast
Working a regular job like most people can make it challenging sometimes to keep producing the show on a regular basis. I rely heavily on divine inspiration during the week, especially when I can’t seem to make as much time for scripture study as I’d like. This ministry is truly a partnership between God and myself. He deserves all the credit when it goes well, and I’m to blame when it flops.
That said, I do usually try to cultivate ideas during the occasional down time at work. More often than not, it is God that drops a word into my heart and gets me started writing up notes on a specific topic. Sometimes, I’ll see a social media post about something into which God has already given me insight. No matter how it starts, I always attempt to keep things within a biblical perspective.
Once the writing is done, I have to make the time for recording. I go into my studio, bring up all my notes on the computer screen, turn on the red “RECORDING” light, and begin. If a dog barks in the background, so be it. I used to let that bother me. I’d stop, start over, or go back and redo a portion, and get frustrated in the process. It made for extra edits, turning it into more of a chore than a passion – so I finally learned to just ignore the would-be interruptions and keep going.

The editing process is actually my favorite. God gave me a real passion for producing these videos, so all the stuff that goes into piecing everything together is really fun. After all the graphics are added and I have a finished project, I go through looking for any mistakes just in case. I’m a perfectionist and can’t stand to put anything subpar online.
One thing that’s changed over the years is the means by which I produce the show. I used to use a video camera and then do all the edits on a computer. Software kept changing, and eventually I realized I could just use my smart phone for everything. All video recording is now done with my phone’s camera and a Bluetooth mic attachment, and all editing is done with an app on my phone as well. It serves me well, providing a large playground for my creativity.
Now it’s time for distribution. I could do all this with my phone, too, but I prefer to use my computer. Rather than filling up storage on my smart phone, I transfer the finished video to my PC. Then I use an app to create an mp3 audio version of the video. I then upload that audio to Spotify for Podcasters, where it is automatically distributed to several other podcasting platforms. Finally, I upload the video podcast to my Rumble channel.

After all this, I usually create a short preview of the episode and post it to Instagram and TikTok. The podcast itself, both audio and video, are scheduled to be available on Saturdays at 9am. A prepared transcript of each show is also scheduled for publication at the same time on my website’s blogs page. Once published, I post a link to the video version on all my social media.
I am blessed to be able to do all this myself, using only the gifts God gave me and the technology at hand. This ministry is, again, a real passion. God has given me the desire and talents to do this for Him, and there is nothing that allows me greater satisfaction. My advice to anyone is to find your passion, your God-given path, and follow it faithfully with everything you’ve got. Pursue God, and He’ll grant you the desires of your heart.
