Restoring the Republic

Welcome to the show. Today I’m gonna talk about the state of our nation, as well as what we can do to help restore the republic. Folks, I believe that we have never been more close to losing our country than we are right now. There are so many efforts that are currently ongoing to rewrite history, change longstanding beliefs about America’s greatness, and utterly destroy the foundations upon which it was built.

If you want to know what’s really going on in the minds of the establishment elites running our country, you need look no further than the opinion section of The New York Times. Check out these recent articles and you’ll see what I mean:

Free and fair elections, free speech, the Constitution itself – everything that makes America great is a target of these people. They are greedy and power hungry. Anything and anyone standing in their way is called ‘dangerous’, is villainized, and they’ll go to any length to get the total control they desire.

Our Constitution has lasted as long as it had because it was designed upon Christian principles for a Christian nation. We are now in a Constitutional crisis because our country has become less and less Christian. John Adams said the Constitution was only written for a moral and religious people, wholly inadequate for any other people. The US either has to return to Christ or ditch the Constitution. Too many people now want to do the latter.

I believe there’s plenty of evidence that we’d be far better off getting our country back to God than to abandon our heritage as a Christian nation. Life in Jesus is true liberty. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. Now, it can be challenging to explain this to the nonbeliever, but that’s exactly what we’re called to do.

Look, the simple fact is that the Constitution is what maintains limits on the government. Without it, the corrupt elites would finally complete their takeover and any semblance of freedom would vanish entirely. This is why they want to get rid of this document. Total control is their goal.

And the bottom line is that dark spiritual forces are what’s really behind this attack on our nation. Pushing us to abandon Christianity is in satan’s best interest. This is a spiritual war that we’re facing, and it must be fought accordingly. Prayer warriors have to get busy praying. God’s people need to stand ready to engage, to witness, to defend the faith, and to speak truth.

Week after week, this message is at the heart of each podcast. It is my calling to encourage fellow believers to take action. Every single one of us has a purpose and a duty in God’s army. We are commissioned by Christ to be His envoys to this world, to reach the lost, to hold up His standard, and to occupy the land until He returns. Are we doing that?

As Americans, we were born into the greatest nation on earth. We’ve been free all our lives. Even the worst events to happen on our soil can’t compare to the attacks, persecution, and slaughters that are commonplace in other parts of the world. That level of safety and liberty has spoiled us to the point that we seem to believe we’re immune to the kind of turmoil we see happening elsewhere.

Once in a while, some large-scale tragedy takes place here and wakes us from our slumber. Our sense of patriotism rises up. For a time, we even seem to unite against a common enemy. But then it all wears off. Inevitably, we return to our lackadaisical complacency, forgetting that which we swore we’d never forget.

But we need to get it through our heads that we aren’t special because we’re Americans. We’re not exempt from having the worst things that happen in other countries happen here. Thus far, we’ve been very blessed. But a large reason for that blessing and protection has been the Godly principles upon which this country was founded. If we keep turning our backs on God, how long before He removes His hand from us completely?

This is not a republican/democrat issue. It’s not a political issue. It’s not a fight between differing ideologies. This is a battle between good and evil. It’s a war that’s been going on for millenia, less than 250 years of which has included the United States. In the grand scheme of things, our nation is like a child that’s been sheltered for most of its life. But as the US has now come of age, the fight is coming to our doorstep. And we must decide which side we’re gonna be on – good or evil. This should be a no-brainer.

It is God who has blessed this country. It is Jesus who has been interceding on our behalf. It was the Christian precepts woven into our founding documents that afforded us so much liberty. It was the prayers of our predecessors that kept a hedge of protection on our schools and families. But we’ve foolishly moved away from that, allowing evil to gain a foothold.

Folks, standing by while our country is destroyed by wickedness just isn’t an option for us as Christians. We are supposed to be the guardians, the caretakers, the shepherds of the fold. Yet there aren’t only wolves at the gates, they’re already inside and attempting to devour the flock. The only question is, what are we prepared to do about it?

As I’ve said before, don’t be so preoccupied with the polarized politics of personalities. It’s not what you think about Trump or Harris or whoever that matters most. Make sure you align yourself with God first and foremost, and you’ll realize soon enough who’s standing shoulder to shoulder with you in the fight – and who’s opposing you as well.

Pay close attention to who and what someone calls “an existential threat to democracy.” Usually, it’s a far-left politician or the legacy media using those terms. What they really mean is: a threat to the controlling powers, the deep state, the establishment elite. And when they call us “right-wing radicals, religious nuts, and Christian nationalists,” you begin to see the scope of their hatred for us.

In Matthew 10:22, Jesus tells us plainly, “you will be hated by all for my name’s sake.” So this is to be expected. If you have some fear of being hated, or if you just can’t stomach the idea of being persecuted, mocked, or belittled because of your Christian faith – you’re gonna have to get over it. The world hated Jesus first. He endured greater scorn and suffering than we can imagine, and He did it out of love for us. And he told us in Matthew 16:24, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”

I’m telling you, folks, now’s the time. The only way to restore the republic is to get America back to God. That starts with you and me. So let’s pray…

God, give us wisdom. Open blinded eyes. Show us the path, embolden us to do what’s right, and guide us as we begin to restore Your ways as the law of the land. Keep our senses keen, our discernment sharp, and our resolve strong. Lord, as a nation that has selfishly strayed from You, we plead for Your mercy. Move us to repentance so that America would be saved, forgive our misdeeds, and heal the damage already inflicted upon our country and its people. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen!

I am a blood-bought saint of God, saved by His amazing Grace! God called me to start Great Commission Ministries online in June of 2011, and that began as a video series called "The GC." After 7 seasons of that web-series, I felt led to expand the ministry to blogs as well as a new video series I called "67 seconds of Encouragement." Eventually, the blogs became a podcast. And the ministry continues to grow from that, currently in the form of The Kingdom Light podcast. My prayer is that this ministry brings hope and encouragement to everyone who finds it. Please share it with others and help spread the Good News of Christ!
